Refurbishment of Agricultural Buildings
EC Fitzgerald Ltd specialise in the refurbishment of existing agricultural units which eliminates the inconvenience and time consuming of application for planning permission. Our specialised teams can rejuvenate existing sheds by supplying and fitting UPVC windows and doors and totally re-insulating and replacing the roof (with poly-steel) and side sections (various cladding). All our employees are fully trained in the removal of asbestos.
Commercial
Commercial timber frames are a long established and continually growing sector of our business. We find speed and efficiency are particularly important in business contracts and we strive to build on our long-established reputation.
Due to the strength to weight ratio of timber frame buildings. Our buildings are especially suited where ground conditions make foundations difficult to install (i.e.) Marinas in coastal areas.
They are also a cost-effective way of adding an extra storey to an existing flat roofed building. Our fully trained sales team can survey a proposed job and give detailed costs within a short time frame.

The supply of timber frame houses to the residential market has always been a vital part of our product lines. Our company concentrates on quality rather than quantity, we use only the best raw materials and concentrate on supplying selected developments and one-off houses with high specification and design requirements.
Our buildings have been enjoyed by our customers for many years and this gives potential customers great reassurance to see buildings completed to our exacting standards.
The speed we can deliver and if necessary erect buildings is also of great assistance to our customers as time delays cost money and both individual customers and quality building firms appreciate prompt and efficient lead times and delivery when promised.
Clear Span
If you have need for a wide space that is clear of posts and beams in a broiler or egg laying house, then a clear span design is the choice for you. In essence, a clear span design is one that does not have supporting pillars such as those found in pole buildings.
A clear span building offers the most usable space and is ideally suited for broiler, egg laying and free-range houses where vehicles are used within the building.
E&C Fitzgerald has seen a considerable increase in demand for clear span buildings in agricultural houses. We have worked with Queen’s University, Belfast to design the highest quality clear span portal frames over 21 meters in length.
All our trusses are made from timber and plywood and are impervious to ammonia which is found in most egg laying, broiler and free-range houses.
Valeron AVA Agent
The product, Valeron AVA Agent manufactured by Technical Converters is a complex multi-layered laminate of aluminium foil, valeron and polyester. It is installed as an internal lining under the roof of poultry sheds and is specifically designed to reflect 95% of radiant heat away from a building.
This is especially beneficial to poultry growers in the sun belt regions. Being able to reflect the heat away from the poultry building improves important KPI’S to the grower such as broiler daily weight gains and egg productivity, reduced heat stress, better welfare and easier sanitation.

Initial sales in 2009 to niche growers in Japan and Australia have now grown as AVA is adopted by larger poultry integrators in India, Sri Lanka and South Africa. Plans are already underway for expanding into the Middle East and other African markets. This product is sold in 120 sq m rolls 1250 mm wide.
